Join us and challenge yourself with this mini 4-week session! Each week you will be challenged to create (and privately share) a song interpretation, you will have a partner to work through your ideas with, weekly discussions with the full group, and "feedback" on the presentation. One of the biggest challenges with English - ASL interpreting is managing being controlled and pressured by the English and the desire to keep it in its original form. One way to deliberately practice "liberating the message from the form" (Colonomos, 2022) is by not starting with an English source text. This challenge is designed to test yourself, in the most fun and entertaining way possible. The poetry of the writing gives us the liberties of creation, and the music guides us in the affect and rhythm of a message. #ASLSongChallenge4 CEUs 1.2 GARID Refund and cancellations --Honored till 8/1/22 once the challenge begins your space is held for you and can not be returned or transferred.
